I was a guest at a destination wedding recently, and there were lots of opportunities for people to ask me that go-to question: So, what do you do?

I never knew how to answer.

• I am a full-time content and SEO writer with amazing companies like Inbound Back Office, Netconcepts, and Wild Bird Scoop. I write for law firms, staffing agencies, landscaping companies, HR businesses, marketing firms, B2B companies, technology sites, and so much more.

• I was also an English professor for nearly 15 years, but I left because it turns out I love the remote work life too much to work full-time on campus. I taught composition, spiritual writing, and creative nonfiction. 

• I teach kids' classes online on Outschool, with two focus areas: composition and feminist theory. 

• I also teach online spiritual writing classes and in-person workshops for adults.

• I publish creative nonfiction essays, pick up copyediting gigs from time to time, and create content on TikTok. 

So what do I do? I write and I teach -- although what I'm writing about and teaching about can change from day to day!
